Coronavirus Outbreak - Magyar is Ready to Help

We have enacted several measures including social distancing and work-from-home programs to support the guidance outlined by the New Jersey State Government, and our public health officials.

In addition, we encourage you to use our online and mobile banking services and have included information about how to enroll for each below. You will also find information from the SBA about programs they are offering for small businesses that are impacted by this outbreak.

Drive-Thru and Appointment Only Service At All Locations

All Magyar locations are currently offering Drive-Thru service only. The hours for each location are available here.

If you need to access your safe deposit box, or have a transaction that requires an in branch visit, you may contact the branch directly to make an appointment. The phone number of each branch is available here.

You can complete most of your banking transactions with our Online and Mobile Banking services, and we encourage you to use them during this time.

Special Lobby Hours for Senior Citizens

Magyar is offering Senior Citizens, age 60 and over, special hours to conduct transactions in our lobby in our Headquarters location, 400 Somerset St., New Brunswick. This is by appointment only, and available between 8:00am - 9:00am daily. Please call 732-342-7600 to make an appointment.

How to Start Using Magyar Bank Mobile Banking

First, you will need to enroll in Magyar Bank's Online Banking before you can download and use our mobile app. If you've not yet enrolled in Online Banking, click here to get started. Then, click on the icon below to download the app from the Google Play Store, or Apple Store.

Telephone Banking

Magyar's Free Telephone Banking service is available 24 hours a day by calling 1-855-624-2497. You can;

  • Retrieve account activity
  • Check to see if a check has cleared
  • Place a stop payment on a check

SBA Disaster Loan Assistance Program

The SBA has established a program to assist small businesses that are impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak. You can visit the SBA website to learn more. As an SBA Preferred Lender, Magyar Bank can help guide you through this program. For assistance, call Craig Sinon at 732-342-7600, ext. 370.

Union County Economic Development Corporation (UCEDC) Crisis Relief Program

In response to the Coronavirus crisis, the UCEDC has established a Crisis Relief Loan Program to assist businesses that are impacted by the crisis. The program is designed to provide broad access to much-needed working capital and features a quick turn-around, no collateral requirements, no pre-payment penalties, and no processing or application fees. Small business owners can borrow up to $15,000 at 2% for up to five years with no collateral requirements to meet their COVID-19 crisis needs. UCEDC is offering two tiers of loans: businesses in operation over two years and with a 680 credit score are eligible to apply for up to $15,000; and businesses with over one year of operations with a credit score greater than 650 are eligible to apply for up to $10,000. Magyar Bank's staff are trained to identify possible fraudulent activity, and we will continue to monitor the latest trends to ensure your account information remains safe.
